Be a Vital Link in Healthcare Excellence
Vail Health is looking for an organized and motivated Inventory Specialist to help ensure that our clinical teams have the right supplies at the right time. If you enjoy working behind the scenes to support frontline care and thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy matters, this is the role for you.
Travel between Vail Health Hospital (Vail) and Precourt Healing Center (Edwards) will be expected daily in a personal vehicle.
 
What You'll Do
As an Inventory Specialist, you'll be a key part of our Supply Chain team. Your day-to-day work helps clinical teams focus on patient care by making sure supplies and equipment are accurate, available, and ready when needed.
  • Executes intermediate-level inventory tasks in a team-based environment in accordance with departmental standards. Includes cycle counting, 5S, and intermediate supply chain report generation.]
  • Supports the inbound and outbound flow of materials in our receiving areas, ensuring accuracy of physical and virtual data and adherence to standard receiving procedures.
  • With the assistance of senior inventory specialists and area supervisors, this position performs intermediate root cause analysis and instructs entry level team members in achieving performance to standard in their daily functions.
  • Operates as a routine project lead as part of a crucial support team to other departments, leading our entry level employees by example as they develop a strong foundation in customer service via skills such as listening, note-taking, effective communication, escalation, and follow-through.
  • Measurably contributes to department kaizen and lean initiatives, to include competency in leading process mapping, "pain point" identification, and directly supporting their area supervisor in kaizen project completion.
  • Operates as a part of an area team in one of our department's materials support areas, exhibiting the key tenants of a team player: active listening and continuous learning, with the ability and willingness for long-term development via advanced cross-training with other department roles and training of basic skills with entry level team members.
  • Assist with the tracking and management of regulatory-controlled donated human allograft tissue.
  • Independently executes the department's standard procedures for item builds and updates, covering point of use and supply support locations.

You are detail-oriented, dependable, and bring a proactive mindset to solving problems. You value teamwork and take pride in supporting patient care-even when you're not directly at the bedside.
 
What You Bring
  • 1 year of experience in healthcare, supply chain, or materials management required.
  • 1 year of customer experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills, competency assessments, and performance evaluations.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to pass Vail Health's Department of Motor Vehicle Report criteria preferred.
