Job Title: IT Support Specialist (Entry Level)


Employment Type: Full-Time, Hourly

Reports to: IT Director

Location: Lynchburg, VA (Corporate Offices and Central Warehouse)

Summary: Join our IT department as an Entry-Level IT Support Specialist, servicing fifty-three retail locations. This role requires a customer-focused individual who is flexible, well-organized, and analytical, with a strong commitment to resolving technology-related issues efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Hardware and Software Support:
    • Maintain and document hardware and software inventory.
    • Assist in hardware/software installations, rollouts, and upgrades, including office moves and new store setups.
    • Provide troubleshooting and repair services for various IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
    • Support cellular phone operations and manage related issues.
    • Support Android tablets and associated software.
  • Helpdesk Support:
    • Offer first-line support for hardware and software problems, including diagnostics and troubleshooting.
    • Resolve network issues across multiple platforms, including fiber internet service, cable internet, and 4G/5G connections.
    • Provide remote and on-site technical support for internal users and external customers.
    • Participate in IT projects, contributing to team efforts and collaborating on technology solutions.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Interface with company personnel and vendors to enhance technology solutions.
    • Travel periodically to various company locations for on-site support.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Requirements:

  • Must pass a 7-year background check for misdemeanors and felonies.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record required.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Experience in a corporate environment supporting over 200 users is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows 7, 10, and 11; intermediate experience with PC hardware and software.
  • Competence in WLAN configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A strong desire to learn and achieve IT-related certifications; A+ (CompTIA) certification or active pursuit of the same is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfort with working from extension ladders is an advantage.
