The Role
Are you someone who loves figuring out how things work? Do you enjoy working with your hands, taking things apart, and putting them back together? If you’re looking to kickstart a career in a hands-on, growing industry, we want to talk to you!
We’re looking for an Entry-Level Infrastructure Technician to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll learn the ropes of installing the physical infrastructure that makes our systems work—from cabling and hardware mounting to equipment racks. No direct experience in AV or low-voltage? No problem. We will train the right person. If you have a strong work ethic, a knack for using tools, and a desire to learn, you'll fit right in.
You’ll work closely with experienced project leads who will mentor you, ensuring you can complete jobs safely, accurately, and with confidence.
Responsibilities
Learn to install cabling, equipment racks, AV mounts, surveillance hardware, and access control infrastructure.
Work safely with hand tools, power tools, drills, ladders, and lifts in various environments (both indoor and outdoor).
Learn to read and interpret layout drawings, schematics, and site documentation.
Perform on-site walkthroughs, keep work areas clean, and ensure all installations meet Macrotek's high standards.
Collaborate with the team and communicate effectively with supervisors.
Help troubleshoot issues in the field and think on your feet to keep projects moving.
Maintain a professional attitude on job sites—showing up on time, being dependable, and staying focused.
Requirements
Note: Direct industry experience is not required! We care more about your mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
Hands-on comfort: Experience using basic hand tools, power tools, and drills (whether from hobbies, previous construction/trade work, or just fixing things around the house).
Physical capability: Comfort climbing ladders, working on your feet, and lifting equipment.
Mindset: A strong interest in mechanical/technical work, a great work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.
Teamwork: Good communication skills and a desire to learn from experienced technicians.
Logistics: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Travel: Must be willing to travel to job sites. Travel is estimated at 25–30%, primarily regional.
What We Offer
