Entry Level Inbound Sales Development Representative information

What is an entry level inbound sales development representative?

An Entry Level Inbound Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a professional who handles incoming leads and inquiries from potential customers, qualifying them for the sales team. Their main responsibility is to engage with prospects who have shown interest in the company's products or services, understand their needs, and determine if they're a good fit. The SDR then schedules appointments or passes qualified leads to more senior sales representatives for further engagement. This role is often a starting point for a career in sales, providing valuable experience in customer communication and lead management.

What does a typical day look like for an entry level inbound sales development representative?

As an Entry Level Inbound Sales Development Representative, your day typically involves responding to incoming leads, qualifying prospects through phone calls or emails, and scheduling meetings for senior sales team members. You'll collaborate closely with marketing to understand lead sources and with account executives to ensure seamless hand-offs. While the pace can be fast and metrics-driven, this role offers a supportive environment where you'll receive training and feedback, making it a great starting point for a career in sales.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level inbound sales development representative?

To thrive as an Entry Level Inbound Sales Development Representative, you need strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a basic understanding of sales principles, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) tools like Salesforce and proficiency in using email and phone systems are typically required. Active listening, resilience, and a positive, goal-oriented attitude help candidates excel in building rapport and overcoming objections. These skills and qualities are vital for effectively qualifying leads, nurturing customer relationships, and achieving sales targets.

Job description

Sales Development Representative (SDR)Pacific Homes | Cobble Hills, BC

Are you looking to build a career in sales rather than just find another job?

Pacific Homes is one of Western Canada’s leading prefabricated home manufacturers. As our company continues to grow, we’re looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our team and help connect prospective homeowners, builders, and developers with our innovative building solutions.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, has strong communication skills, and wants to develop a long-term career in sales, construction, and project development.

At Pacific Homes, the SDR role is more than an entry-level position. It serves as the first step in a structured sales career path that can lead to Sales Coordinator and Build Specialist positions as you develop your skills and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound sales inquiries from website, phone, email, and trade show leads.
  • Qualify prospective clients by understanding their project goals, timelines, budgets, and property information.
  • Educate prospects on Pacific Homes products, services, and building processes.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with prospective clients and nurture opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • Schedule meetings and consultations for our Build Specialists.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and activity within HubSpot CRM.
  • Assist with client communications, sample requests, and showroom inquiries.
  • Support home shows, marketing events, and lead-generation activities.
  • Work closely with Build Specialists and other members of the sales team to create an exceptional customer experience.

 Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in sales, customer service, business development, or a related field.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • A positive, professional, and customer-focused attitude.
  • Experience using CRM software is an asset (HubSpot preferred).
  • Construction, homebuilding, or building-material experience is considered an asset but is not required.
  • Post-secondary education in business, marketing, communications, or a related field is an asset.

If you’re motivated, eager to learn, and excited about building a career in sales, we’d love to hear from you.

    Pay range- $50,000 - $55,000
