Location: Southwoods Executive Centre, Boardman, OH
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Level: Entry-Level
About the Role:
Southwoods Health is seeking a Medical Records / HIM Scanning Specialist to join our team. This is an entry-level position essential to maintaining the integrity of our medical records. You will assist in the compilation, scanning, and indexing of patient information into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) while ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of all facility files.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Document Management: Collect, scan, index, and file medical records into the EMR system accurately and promptly.
  • Reconciliation: Close orders in EMR upon receipt of patient results.
  • Coordination: Upload referrals into the EMR system for the referrals team to process.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all facility policies and HIPAA regulations to ensure the security and safety of patient information.
Qualifications:
  • Required: 1+ year of experience in a medical office or HIM-related environment.
  • Education: High School Diploma; coursework in business office activities or medical terminology is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong computer proficiency and excellent communication skills.
