OrthoCincy is the Tri-state's largest independent orthopaedic care provider. Our physicians treat all types of injuries, literally from head to toe. General Summary

Responsible for financial counseling, monitoring payments and collection of delinquent patient accounts.

Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for reviewing all schedules and surgeries to determine out of pocket cost to patient.
  • Collect deposits of established payment arrangements.
  • Evaluates patient financial status and establishes budget payment plans.
  • Monitors private-pay patient accounts for delinquent payments and determines course of action.
  • Reviews delinquent accounts and contacts patients.
  • Contacts lawyers involved in third โ€“party litigation.
  • Educates patient regarding assistance they may be eligible for.
  • Follow HIPAA guidelines.
  • Demonstrated passion for excellence with respect to treating and caring for customers.
  • Performs other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice.
Requirements

High school diploma. Minimum two years of college, medical office financial counseling or collections experience.

Schedules will change as department needs change, including overtime and weekends.

Performance Requirements

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of medical billing/collection practices.
  • Knowledge of insurance filing and payment posting techniques.
  • Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of collection methods and legal and regulatory government provisions regarding collection of accounts.
