Position Summary
The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for supporting the HR department in delivering a smooth and professional employee experience from recruitment through onboarding and ongoing employment. This role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and a commitment to professionalism.
A key focus of this position is ensuring all new hires experience a structured, welcoming, and well-organized onboarding process that aligns with organizational standards and culture.
Key Responsibilities
Professional Onboarding & New Hire Support
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of the new hire onboarding process
- Prepare and distribute offer letters, onboarding packets, and employment documentation
- Schedule and facilitate new employee orientation sessions
- Ensure completion of required paperwork, background checks, and compliance forms
- Introduce new hires to company policies, procedures, and organizational culture
- Serve as the primary point of contact for onboarding-related questions
- Ensure a smooth transition from offer acceptance to active employment
Recruitment Support
- Assist with job postings and applicant tracking
- Screen resumes and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
- Communicate professionally with candidates throughout the hiring process
- Support hiring logistics and documentation
HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
- Update HR systems and databases with employee information
- Assist with payroll, benefits enrollment, and HR documentation
- Track employee training, certifications, and compliance requirements
Employee Support
- Respond to general HR inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Assist with employee engagement and internal communications
- Support HR team with special projects and initiatives
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate or Bachelor’s preferred)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer systems
Preferred
- Prior administrative, office, or HR experience
- Familiarity with onboarding or recruiting processes
