What is an entry level HRIS analyst?

An Entry Level HRIS Analyst is a professional who assists with managing and maintaining Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) within an organization. Their responsibilities typically include data entry, report generation, system troubleshooting, and supporting HR staff with system-related issues. They also help ensure data accuracy and integrity, and may assist with system upgrades or implementations. This role serves as a starting point for careers in HR technology and analytics.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level HRIS analyst?

To thrive as an Entry Level HRIS Analyst, you need a foundational understanding of human resources processes, data management, and a bachelor's degree in HR, IT, or a related field. Familiarity with HRIS platforms like Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or ADP, as well as proficiency in Excel and basic data analysis, is typically required. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you interpret data and collaborate with HR teams. These skills ensure accurate HR data management, support organizational decision-making, and drive process improvements.

What are some common challenges faced by entry level HRIS analysts, and how can they be overcome?

Entry-level HRIS Analysts often encounter challenges such as learning new HRIS platforms, managing large volumes of employee data, and ensuring data accuracy. Adapting to frequent system updates and understanding complex HR processes can also be daunting. These challenges can be overcome by seeking mentorship from experienced colleagues, participating in training sessions, and proactively communicating with both HR and IT teams to clarify requirements. Embracing continuous learning and leveraging available documentation or user communities can also significantly ease the transition into the role.

Human Resources Information System Administrator

Job description

There's a ceiling in internal HRIS work, and you've probably touched it. You inherit a system someone else configured. You keep it running, work the queue, push change requests through channels โ€” and the decisions that actually shaped the platform were made before you arrived. You've become the person who knows how everything works, in a role built around not changing much.

Implementation is the other side of the profession. At Market HR Services, a Wichita payroll and HR services firm serving multiple client employers, every new client is a complete build: requirements, configuration, data migration, testing, training, go-live. The system doesn't work until you make it work โ€” and when payroll runs clean on day one, that's visibly yours.

That's the role we're hiring for. You'll configure client environments, own data migration and validation, optimize workflows, train internal teams and client users, and work across HR, payroll, and benefits so nothing falls apart at the handoffs. And because we serve many employers instead of one, you get the thing internal administrators almost never get: repetition. Each launch sharpens your pattern for the next. Your judgment compounds instead of idling.

We run on iSolved. Hands-on experience with it is a real head start, but it isn't required โ€” depth in any major HCM platform transfers, and we'll give you the ramp time to prove it. This is an office-based role in Wichita, deliberately so: implementation is learned fastest sitting next to the payroll, benefits, and HR people who catch problems before clients ever feel them.

What you need

  • Hands-on HRIS experience โ€” configuration, data work, and system administration or implementation, beyond end-user navigation
  • The ability to work from our Wichita office; this is not a remote position

If you're good at making systems behave and tired of doing it invisibly, let's talk. Tell us about an implementation, migration, or fix you personally owned โ€” we'd like to hear how you think.
