Overview:
Responsible for ensuring the resort grounds are well maintained and reflect an image of outstanding quality. The successful candidate must have a desire to learn entry level grounds maintenance job tasks as well as the skills to operate maintenance equipment properly. Previous experience is not required.
Essential Functions:
* Demonstrate preparation for day's work by arriving in uniform and with a positive attitude.
* Demonstrate the capability to function as a member of a team to accomplish established goals.
* Carry out all grounds maintenance tasks with a sense of pride and ownership so as to adhere to established quality guidelines for daily operation.
* Inspect all tools and equipment prior to, during and after use. Operate all equipment safely and with care and consideration of its value. Report any damage and or lack of performance to a supervisor.
* Performs tasks common to the care of grounds and landscapes by seeding, watering, mulching. Mowing lawns with riding or push mowers; trimming and edging, shrubs, ground cover, flowers, sidewalks and buildings; weeding, thinning and cleaning flower beds and other grounds by hand or utilizing proper tools and equipment.
* Performs general maintenance and repairs by installing, removing, repairing and maintaining landscape lighting, signs, fences, and rock walls; and repairing streets, parking lots as applicable.
* Removes unsightly trash and debris from public areas by regularly inspecting grounds, drains, debris; raking, sweeping and bagging leaves, debris, dirt and trash from streets, sidewalks, parking lots, and transporting the trash to designated central collection points on a daily basis.
* Assists in preventing accidents resulting from snow or ice covered surfaces by use of snow removal equipment on trucks and tractors; operating snow blowers, tractors or
using shovels to remove snow and spread gravel and salt on snow or ice covered surfaces.
* Prepares outdoor locations for use by guests as needed by resort operations.
Requirements:
* A valid driver's license and meet company MVR requirements (strongly preferred).
* Must be able to work outdoors in various weather extremes.
* Must be able to learn to operate and work around potentially hazardous equipment including but not limited to hand tools, trimming tools, mowing equipment, transportation vehicles.
* Must be able to work weekdays and weekends as necessary.
* Must be able to stand up to 60 minutes per hour worked.
* Must be able to walk, climb, bend/stoop, overhead reach, hand/eye coordination, arm/hand movement up to 60 minutes per hour worked.
* Must be able to lift over 40 pounds horizontal, floor to waist, grasping/holding, pushing/pulling, and carrying.
* Experience with general landscape care tasks is preferred but not required.
