Job description

We are looking for an entry-level Accountant to join a luxury hospitality organization in New York, New York on a Contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed financial work and wants to support daily accounting operations in a fast-paced hotel environment. The assignment is expected to last at least 3 months and will focus heavily on transaction review, cash balancing, and payment reconciliation.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Reconcile daily cash activity against records provided by an external merchant processor to ensure accuracy and completeness.
โ€ข Review credit card transactions and investigate discrepancies by comparing supporting financial data across systems.
โ€ข Use Excel to organize, analyze, and validate transaction details for routine accounting review.
โ€ข Maintain accurate financial records and prepare clear documentation for reconciliations and outstanding items.
โ€ข Support the accounting team with timely follow-up on variances, missing information, and unresolved payment issues.
โ€ข Work within PeopleRine to track spending activity across multiple entities and assist with account-level review as needed.โ€ข Prior experience or training in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline.
