The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview
Responsible for managing, analyzing, and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of health information data. Supports all areas of HIM operations through data management as well as participation in HIM processing to ensure process timeliness and optimization of techniques and technology. Assists leadership to ensure that patient record information is accurate, complete, secure, and compliant with regulatory, legal, and organizational requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate degree or bachelor's degree in health information management preferred. RHIA or RHIT preferred.
Experience: One year' data analysis or HIM related experience required.
Other Credentials:
Knowledge and Skills: Proficient in document validation. Ability to manipulate data from various systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of HIPAA and other HIM related regulatory requirements. Proficient in the use of multiple EMR systems
Special Training: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Ability to work in environment using multiple EMR systems. Ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and meet required turnaround times.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performs collection, validation, analysis and reporting of HIM operations data.
Collects, tracks and analyzes information to disseminate and effectively communicate to HIM leadership and team and other organizational leaders.
Supports all facets of job performance in record processing and release of information. Assists in all areas of HIM, coding and CDI with techniques to optimize HIM operations.
Effectively and continuously communicates information to HIM leadership and other CH leadership and departments on status of Physician Queries, Operative reports, ER Notes, Pathology reports and other pertinent documents to assist in management of DNFB and timeliness of overall HIM operations.
Performs an array of duties associated with EMR data integrity and exception reporting of the patient portal, distribution of auto-faxing and merging of duplicate medical record numbers.
Identifies and investigates data quality concerns and collaborates with IT to resolve and implement solutions and streamlined workflows. Grants access to HIM systems based on user role and assures appropriate authorization.
Gathers patient record information from several EMR systems to fulfill record requests and generate invoices when applicable in accordance with HIPAA, state and federal standards.
Electronically analyzes medical records for documentation deficiencies using several hospital systems. Adheres to Medical Record Documentation Requirements Policy when assigning deficiencies.
Participates in team meetings, committees, and cross-functional workgroups to address HIM data quality and operational issues.
Assists HIM leadership and CHMG and other areas of organization to ensure effective record storage and records retention processes.
Assists with system updates, data migrations, or workflow redesigns.
Assists leadership by performing research on the latest industry trends and best practices.
Meets or exceeds departmental accuracy and productivity standards. Fosters teamwork and collaboration
