Job description

Job Purpose: BETA Fueling Systems is seeking a Work Instruction Developer to create clear, accurate, and easy-to-follow work instructions that support manufacturing, assembly, inspection, testing, and service operations. This role focuses on translating engineering intent and shop-floor practices into written and visual instructions that improve quality, safety, and consistency across production. Work hours are Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 3:30pm and Friday 6:00am - 10:00am.
This position works closely with both Engineering and Production teams, acting as a bridge between design intent and shop-floor execution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, update, and maintain clear, step-by-step work instructions for assembly, inspection, testing, and installation activities
  • Create, manage, and maintain work instructions and job traveler documentation using Azumuta, a cloud-based manufacturing documentation platform
  • Take and manage photos of equipment, assemblies, wiring, tools, and processes to support visual work instructions
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and change information to create accurate instructions
  • Demonstrate a working understanding of basic electrical wiring concepts, including wire identification, routing, connectors, and reading wiring diagrams
  • Work directly with Engineering to understand design intent, changes, and technical requirements
  • Work directly with Production and Quality teams to validate instructions and ensure usability on the shop floor
  • Capture, organize, and maintain project documentation including photos and reference materials
  • Create instructions for integrating BETA equipment into customer vehicles and systems
  • Create and coordinate equipment and process labels as required
  • Gather feedback, revisions, and approvals from engineering, quality, and production stakeholders
  • Support production by answering questions related to work instructions, travelers, and documented processes
  • Assist with assembly and quality inspection documentation during the build process

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • GED or high school diploma
  • Proven ability to write clear, concise work instruction or technical documentation
  • Experience using digital or cloud-based documentation
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, assembly, or production environments
  • Working knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical concepts
  • Ability to understand and follow wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Strong written communication skills in English
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both engineering and production personnel
  • Ability to take clear, effective photos for technical documentation
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiar with industrial safety environment and use of common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and hard hats (BETA will provide or reimburse)
  • Physical Requirements - using hands to handle, control or feel objects and tools, ability to read written instructions, lift and/or move materials up to 30 pounds independently, ability to climb a ladder, and to work in a loud manufacturing environment without temperature control

This position is located in Reidsville, NC and does not have direct reports.
