Team Impact

As PCA in our Medical Unit, you will care for adult and geriatric patients with a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions, including respiratory disease, heart failure, diabetes-related complications, sepsis, and other complex medical diagnoses requiring inpatient hospitalization. Working alongside RNs and experienced interdisciplinary team, you'll provide compassionate, patient-centered care while gaining clinical experience in a collaborative and supportive environment.

How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)

  • Perform all aspects of first-level patient care including promoting hygiene and mobility
  • Measure and record patients' vitals such as temperature and blood pressure
  • Responds to patient/family needs and requests
  • May assist and support physicians/nurses during routine procedures and treatments
  • Report all observations, changes in patient condition to responsible RN for timely, appropriate evaluation and response
  • Prepare hospital rooms
  • Change patients' bed sheets, pillows and turning or repositioning patients in their beds
  • Deliver meals to patients and assist with feeding
  • Help patients dress and/or assist with toileting needs
  • Bathe patients
  • Listen to patients' concerns, record them and report them to a nurse 
  • Patient companion when needed

What You Bring (Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for caring and supporting others
  • Patient care experience (preferred, not required)
  • Medical terminology knowledge (a helpful plus)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (can be earned after hire)
