The Department of Cardiology at the Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, Louisiana is seeking a cardiologist who is BC/BE in Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation to join our team.

J1 visa opportunities available through FLEX Waiver.

We have a group of 6 staff physicians, 5 mid-level providers, and a 7th year advanced heart failure fellowship position. The Ochsner Advanced Heart Failure team currently performs approximately 35 LVAD implantations and 25-30 heart transplants per year. The candidate would join a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate expertise in all aspects of Advanced Heart Failure, including inpatient, outpatient, and outreach services. Additionally, we have a well formed amyloidosis clinic, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy clinic. The Ochsner Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic which is PHA certified and quite robust and well-established is also a program the candidate would be able to participate in as it is run by the Advanced Heart Failure Team. As a health system with several Ochsner owned and Ochsner-affiliated medical centers we have established a cardiogenic shock initiative that is multidisciplinary in approach and growing throughout the state and the Gulf South region. We hope to find someone that is comfortable and interested in working in the academic environment, with a strong cardiology fellowship that is integral to our inpatient team dynamic.
The Department of Cardiology at OMC includes 45 cardiologists working at the academic medical center in New Orleans as part of our nationally recognized cardiology group of 80 cardiologists practicing at nine locations across southeast Louisiana and southwest Mississippi as a member of the Ochsner Health's John Ochsner Heart & Vascular Institute. Additionally, the Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute is a regional leader with heart, lung, liver, kidney, pancreas, and dual organ transplantation.
