Entry Level Mortuary Transport Driver

Location: NE Portland, OR

Pay: $21.50-$22.50/hr

Hours: Full-Time | Day Shift ($21.50) & Night Shift ($22.50)

Schedule: 12-hour on-call shift with a 9-hour guarantee

Age Requirement: 21+

What You'll Do:

  • Transport deceased individuals on behalf of the Medical Examiner's Office and the funeral homes the organization serves.
  • Handle and transport the deceased with professionalism, dignity, and respect.
  • Interact compassionately with families during difficult moments, helping ensure a positive final impression.
  • Safely operate company vehicles while responding to transportation requests throughout the Portland metro area.
  • Follow established procedures for documentation and chain of custody.


What You Need to Have:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (Second Chance Employer)
  • Legible handwriting skills
  • Ability to pass a 9-panel drug screening
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment lift test
  • Ability to safely lift and move over 100 lbs
  • Ability to work with deceased individuals of all ages
  • Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and professional in emotionally sensitive situations
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
