Meadows Funeral Home of Albany, Inc. is seeking an Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer to support compassionate, professional service for families in their time of need.

Position Summary

The Apprentice Funeral Director/Embalmer assists with funeral and burial preparation under the guidance of licensed professionals. This role provides hands-on experience in supporting arrangements, preparing bodies for services, and ensuring a respectful, well-organized environment throughout every stage of the process.

This part-time onsite position is ideal for an individual who is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering service with dignity, care, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the preparation of bodies for services in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.

  • Support funeral arrangement tasks, including coordinating schedules, organizing information, and preparing for services.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility, preparation areas, and equipment used in daily operations.

  • Provide empathetic support to families and visitors by following direction and maintaining respectful communication.

  • Assist with case documentation and ensure required information is handled accurately and confidentially.

Compensation
