Job description

Project Manager (Purchasing)

Benjamin West – Dallas, TX

Position Overview:

Plan, direct and coordinate activities of designated project(s) between staff and clients to ensure that budgets, schedules, and account objectives are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and financial parameters by executing the following duties:


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Strengthen vendor/supplier relationships through negotiating in a manner that is professional and consistent with the BW Guiding Principals
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project related team members
  • Create a budget to drive analytics and client understanding
  • Analyze and negotiate bids with vendor to identify advantageous pricing, quality, logistics, service and verification to specifications
  • Educate clients on product suitability analysis, and deliver recommendations
  • Establish favorable credit terms with suppliers on behalf of the client
  • Oversee data entry of specifications, request for quotes, purchase orders, and expediting
  • Monitor and review status reports and modify schedules or plans, updating clients as required
  • Drive funding reviews on the project (with client & BW accounting)
  • Track invoices, and problem invoice resolution
  • Lead project review, including lessons learned
  • Manage client expectations
  • Travel to project sites, client offices for kick-off meetings, and /or manufacturing facilities to review project set-up as needed, including model room reviews

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A professional, results-oriented person with creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task, and have great attention to detail
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to represent the company and project team in a professional manner
  • Previous experience in a purchasing or design role is a plus, but not required
  • Previous work directly related to the hospitality industry is a plus, but not required
  • FF&E and/or OS&E product knowledge is a plus, but not required
  • Proficient computer skills, with knowledge of Microsoft products
  • Able to effectively manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work as a team member, and independently with minimal direction
  • Operate under compressed deadlines

 

Reporting:

Benjamin West is structured into teams.  The team may include Project Directors, Managers, and Coordinators.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience (minimum of three years).
