Aspirus Health in Wausau, WI is seeking an EPIC ASAP APPLICATIONS ANALYST - SENIOR to join our INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY team!
The Senior Applications Analyst will be the leader and subject matter expert for specific content issues and solutions. Has a very strong working knowledge of hospital clinical and administrative departments, operations, and core process flows. Understands interactions and flows with administrative and financial systems. Performs project management activities as well as analysis, design, implementation, education, and support of assigned application software. Will be thoroughly familiar with the function and processes of their assigned departments and assist the customer department in the use of the applications at Aspirus, while working to maintain and/or improve patient safety, departmental workflow, and cost containment.
Position involves extensive consulting and communication with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, technologist, and other clinical staff as well as clerical and administrative users, vendors, hospital management/administration, and outside agencies.
HOURS: Full-Time or 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every 2 weeks. Remote
This position is eligible for remote work; however, candidates must reside in one of the following states to be considered for employment: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.
Experience/Qualifications
  • Knowledge of advanced principles of information systems and computer usage normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor of Science in Business, Information Technology, clinical area, or related field, and/or five+ years' relevant healthcare/IT experience.
  • Epic ASAP certification and experience.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in implementing clinical information systems. Previous teaching/training and project management experience.
  • ITIL course to be completed within one year of hire.
  • HIMSS certification within one year of hire.
  • Very efficient in using computer tools in a clinical setting required.
  • Expert in healthcare assessment, planning, protocol development, standards, policies and procedures, quality control and inter-departmental issues and communications.
  • Very strong working knowledge of hospital clinical and administrative departments, operations, and core process flows. Understands interactions and flows with administrative and financial systems.
  • Advanced understanding of information systems and computer usage.
  • Very strong understanding and practice of the Systems Development Life cycle (SDLC): project definition, user requirements definition, system requirements definition, analysis and design, system build, implementation and training, sustainment.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task managing several different issues at a time.
