Location: Bend

Compensation: $27.97/hour (plus $0.50/hour for bilingual Spanish)  

Hours: Regular full-time (40 hours/week)

Benefits: 100% premium paid Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance, Agency paid Retirement plan (up to 6%), almost 2 weeks of vacation time accrued in your first year, plus 14 paid Holidays annually, and separate sick leave accrual

NeighborImpact Weatherization Program Overview

The NeighborImpact Weatherization Program delivers energy-saving repairs, improvements, and items to clients in Crook, Deschutes, Hood River, Jefferson, Sherman and Wasco Counties as well as the Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs. Typically, the program serves 100 low-income households each year. Additionally, the program offers Energy Education workshops that are open to the entire community.


Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:

This is an entry level position and NeighborImpact will provide on the job training related to the technical aspects of this position. The Home Energy Technician will complete comprehensive home energy audits and eligible final inspections to clients in the service areas. Tasks include evaluating homes for energy usage and possible improvements, data entry and compilation, creating work orders, using an energy modeling computer application and completing final inspections upon job completion. This role will work as part of a team whose goal is to create more energy efficient and safe homes for income eligible residents across our service area. This position has the potential to grow into a Weatherization Auditor upon successful completion of required certifications. 

Requirements

Required

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with basic math, ability to provide accurate and consistent measurements required. A pre-employment math skills assessment will be administered.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Office required
  • Certification of REM/Design Application Specialist within 1 year of hire required
  • Certification in BPI Building Analyst, REAP Mobile Homes Shell Tech, REAP Stick Built Shell Tech, Lead Renovator, BPI Heating Professional within 1 year of hire required
  • Completion of QCI certification within 1.5 years of hire required
  • Occasional out of area travel will be required for training/educational purposes
  • Required prior to date of hire and throughout employment:
  1. Valid driver's license
  2. Proof of current auto insurance
  3. Access to reliable transportation
  4. Satisfactory criminal background check
  5. Satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)

Preferred

  • Spanish/English bilingual is preferred
  • One-year experience working in the construction industry preferred
  • Knowledge of weatherization and building science principles preferred
