WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Accounting Analyst in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This position offers a flexible work arrangement (remote/hybrid) with time spent in the Milwaukee office.

This position is part of a job family (Associate Analyst, Analyst) where experience will be the determining factor.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with financial/accounting controls
  • Perform closing procedures including preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis 
  • Collaborate and assist with the preparation of forecasts and budgets 
  • Monitor the integrity of the systems and general ledger transactions
  • Prepare internal and external financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, Sarbanes Oxley, and various commission reporting
  • Provide back up and rotation of responsibilities
  • Analyze large amounts of data and maintain complex spreadsheets
  • Utilize various forecasting, reporting and general ledger software
  • Provide communication related to financial statements, data requests and month end closing processes
  • Proactively improve processes and business solutions
  • This position requires working additional hours during certain times of the month
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related business degree is required. (May 2026 Graduates are eligile to apply)
  • Entry level position where some work experience is preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong analysis, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks under time constraints in a challanging and fast paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understand aspects of accounting theory and financial statement classification
  • Ability to understand and execute financial controls and perform testing
  • Ability to learn new processes and systems
  • Document basic processes and procedures in ways easily understood and followed by others
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external parties  in a clear and timely manner
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong work ethic and an eager willingness to accept and meet challenges
  • Independent, mature, professional team member who is an analytical thinker with an ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve moderately complex problems

End Date: 08/07/2026 

Pay Range Minimum:  $59,510.36 

Pay Range Maximum:  $102,655.28 

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs.  At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
