The Lockheed Martin Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) team is seeking experienced Software Engineers to be part of a team developing missile defense technology that could forever change our ability to deter and respond to adversity.

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full time Software Engineer. In this role, you will support the software engineering lifecycle following the program Software Development Plan (SDP) to include requirements analysis, object oriented analysis & design, code & unit test, integration, and support to formal test/delivery. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of languages such as C or C++.

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require government security clearance prior to starting. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Travel up to 5% to Huntsville, AL for Planning activities.

#LI-CS1 Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.

Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice. Basic Qualifications Experience with programming languages such as C, C++ Experience or classroom knowledge with embedded software/hardware Desired Skills Knowledge of Agile Software Development Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of Model Base Systems Engineering (MBSE) Previous experience designing to software requirements Experience with full software life cycle development including SW design, architecture and integration & test Bachelor's degree in computer science, Aerospace Engineering or other related degree program from an accredited college/university Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $166900.00 - $309900.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
