Position Description

Position Title: Product Description Copywriter / Data Administrator (Entry Level)

Reports To: Creative Director

Essential Position Responsibilities:

The primary role of this position involves writing product descriptions and specs into a database, ensuring product content is optimized for SEO, and communicating with merchandisers and other departments frequently with strict adherence to deadlines.

The ideal candidate has a proven passion for sneaker culture, able to communicate clearly, both typed and in speech, able to adapt seamlessly to a constantly changing environment, proven ability to produce a high volume of work accurately with a fast-paced turnaround and a "whatever it takes" attitude.

Responsibilities: Including but not limited to:

COPY/DATA ADMINISTRATOR

  • Write descriptive product copy on at least 70+ items per day
  • Fact check through internet research and internal documents
  • Proofread copy
  • Research current trends in SEO, copywriting and ecommerce to elevate the descriptive copy on products, emails & web graphics that increases conversion and organic ranking.
  • Troubleshoot issues with multiple departments as needed and with a quick turnaround
  • Manage the accuracy of the release shoe spreadsheet, in conjunction with the vendor release calendar
  • Communicate constant launch updates to multiple departments on a timely basis
  • Deliver product to the photographer on a priority basis
  • Re-prioritize projects as things change constantly
  • Communicate often via email
  • Maintain organization, professionalism and patience under pressure
  • Work overtime as needed

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in copywriting and proofreading in a related field
  • Some experience creating content for social/websites /blogs
  • SNEAKERHEADS A HUGE PLUS! With experience writing for blogs like complex, sole collector, sneaker news, Kicks on Fire, etc
  • Ability to type product copy at an extremely fast pace- (min 10 different products within 1 hour). You will be tested in the interview process.
  • Knowledge of relevant sneaker/fashion/trend websites for fact checking
  • Excellent computer skills including PC, Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, Email
  • Established organizational and problem solving skills required.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to work in a changing environment required.
    • Familiarity with internet marketing, Search Engine Optimization is a plus
    • Basic knowledge of HTML and at least some understanding of the content management systems (CMS) a plus.
    • Marketing, Communications or English major preferred.

Physical Requirements: Including but not limited to:

  • Ability to work in an office; sit at a desk, type on a computer for up to 8 hours with frequent standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying or otherwise moving objects up to 60 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently.
  • Ability to access and operate company computer system including data entry and reading reports from a computer data base or e-mail system
  • Ability to travel locally via mass transportation or your own car to stores and other events
