Job Description Content Writer - Claims Digital Experience (P&C Required) Location: Remote Duration: 6 Month Contract Industry: Insurance / Digital Customer Experience Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Content Writer with strong Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance and Claims experience to develop clear, compelling, and user-centered content for USAA's Claims Digital experiences. This role focuses on creating and refining copy across digital claims journeys, ensuring clarity, consistency, and compliance while improving the overall member experience. The writer will support end-to-end claims experiences including claims filing, claim status tracking, notifications, and member communications, partnering closely with cross-functional teams including Claims Operations, UX, Product, Marketing, and Compliance.

This is a remote, contract role requiring deep familiarity with insurance claims processes and member-facing digital experiences. Key Responsibilities Develop, write, and edit content for digital claims experiences including claims intake, claims status tracking, FAQs, and help content. Create member-facing communications including digital templates, notifications, articles, bulletins, and promotional/educational content.

Translate complex P&C insurance and claims processes into clear, simple, and user-friendly messaging. Partner with Claims, UX, Product, and Marketing teams to gather requirements and align on content strategy and user experience. Ensure all content meets brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and regulatory/compliance requirements.

Manage multiple writing projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. Continuously refine content based on stakeholder feedback, user testing, and performance insights. Participate in UX/content design reviews and cross-functional alignment sessions.

Daily Duties Write and edit content for Claims Digital experiences (filing a claim, tracking a claim, claim updates). Use Figma to review UX designs and ensure copy fits within user flows and interfaces. Draft and refine documentation and content in Microsoft Word for stakeholder review.

Build and present content updates and recommendations using PowerPoint. Collaborate with Claims and digital teams to ensure consistency across all member touchpoints. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of professional writing/content experience.

Direct experience in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance (required). Claims experience (required), including familiarity with claims processes, workflows, or customer servicing. Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.

Strong project management and time management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities. Ability to simplify complex insurance and claims concepts into clear, customer-friendly content. Experience writing for customer/member-facing digital experiences.

Preferred Experience UX writing or content design experience in digital product environments. Experience working in regulated financial services or insurance organizations. Familiarity with agile teams and cross-functional delivery environments.

Tools & Technologies Figma - Review UX flows and align content to designs. Microsoft Word - Content drafting, editing, and collaboration. PowerPoint - Presenting content strategy and stakeholder updates.
