Job description

Job Title: Worker's Compensation Case Manager


Location: Raleigh, NC

Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire

Schedule: Mondayโ€“Friday | 8:30 AMโ€“5:00 PM


Overview:

Addison Group is partnering with a respected law firm to identify a Worker's Compensation Case Manager to support a busy Workers' Compensation Attorney. This position is ideal for an organized legal professional with North Carolina Workers' Compensation experience who enjoys managing a high-volume caseload, building strong client relationships, and ensuring cases move efficiently from intake through resolution. The Worker's Compensation Case Manager will serve as the primary liaison between clients, attorneys, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and the North Carolina Industrial Commission while delivering exceptional customer service throughout the life of each claim.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage up to 150 North Carolina Workers' Compensation cases from intake through resolution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates regarding treatment, benefits, discovery, and case status.
  • Coordinate communication between attorneys, clients, medical providers, insurance adjusters, and the North Carolina Industrial Commission.
  • Maintain attorney calendars by scheduling hearings, mediations, depositions, client meetings, and court deadlines.
  • Request, organize, summarize, and maintain medical records and medical billing documentation.
  • Draft legal correspondence, discovery responses, affidavits, motions, and other case-related documents.
  • Prepare and electronically file documents with the North Carolina Industrial Commission.
  • Coordinate mediations, hearings, and client appointments while ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Review case files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Prepare and supplement discovery responses.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical case files using legal case management software.
  • Provide administrative support including scanning, filing, copying, and mailing legal documents.


What They're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent North Carolina Workers' Compensation experience as a Case Manager, Paralegal, or similar role.
  • Experience managing a high-volume caseload (up to 150 active files).
  • At least 1 year of experience utilizing legal case management software.
  • Strong knowledge of North Carolina Workers' Compensation procedures and Industrial Commission filings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional client service abilities.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to prioritize competing deadlines while working independently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Paralegal Certificate or related legal studies preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish is highly preferred.
