Position Summary
The Associate Business Analyst is based fully on site at Old Republic Risk Management's Brookfield Office. This is an entry-level, development-focused role designed for someone early in their career who wants to grow into a strong analytics and Power BI expert while helping improve business performance through data.

You will design, build, and continuously improve Power BI dashboards, data models, and reporting solutions that are used by business leaders to monitor performance, identify trends, and drive decisions.

Beyond reporting, you will partner with stakeholders to understand business processes and use analytical insights to identify inefficiencies and support process improvement initiatives.

  • Power BI development and analytics
  • business process improvement
  • data-driven decision-making

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The below functions reflect the general details necessary to describe the essential functions of this position and should not be construed as a detailed description of all work requirements. Other duties may be assigned.

As an Associate Business Analyst, you will:
  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to understand business needs, processes, and objectives, and translate those needs into clear business requirements and actionable solutions.
  • Analyze business processes, workflows, systems, and data to identify trends, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for operational improvement and enhanced business performance.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, analyses, and Power BI solutions that provide meaningful insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Support business and technology initiatives by participating in requirements management, testing, implementation activities, and cross-functional project efforts.
  • Prepare and maintain business and project documentation, including requirements, process maps, user guides, meeting notes, and status updates.
In this role, Power BI is not a tool you occasionally use—it is the foundation of how insights are delivered to the business.

QualificationsEducation and Experience
This is an entry-level role designed for someone beginning their career in analytics, business intelligence, or business analysis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience developing Power BI solutions, including data modeling and building reporting solutions using financial and/or workflow data.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, certifications, and experience will also be considered

Technical and Professional Skills
The ideal Associate Business Analyst will demonstrate:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI, including Power Query and DAX
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, reporting, and analytical best practices
  • Understanding of data modeling and reporting best practices in Power BI
  • Familiarity with Excel and Microsoft Office tools
  • Basic SQL and relational data understanding
  • SharePoint experience is a plus
And just as importantly, you will bring:
  • A Power BI-first mindset for solving business problems
  • A strong desire to improve how organizations use data
  • Curiosity about how processes work and how dashboards can improve them
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills through data
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Initiative, ownership, and a continuous improvement mindset
  • Comfort working independently while collaborating across teams

This entry-level role is designed for people who want to:
  • take ownership of meaningful Power BI development work from early in their career
  • build dashboards that are actively used by business leaders every day
  • directly influence how performance is measured and understood
  • improve processes by turning Power BI insights into action
  • grow into strong analytics, BI, and business transformation professionals
If you’re someone who thinks, “this could be visualized better,” “this process could be smarter,” or “this should be automated in a dashboard”—you’ll thrive here.

Financial Benefits
  • Salary Range: $60,000.00–$65,000.00 annually. Compensation is commensurate with education and experience and will be determined in accordance with internal equity and organizational compensation practices.
