Position summary: Responsible for engineering traffic studies using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Perform field observation and collect traffic data.
  • Learn and become proficient in performing traffic analysis utilizing traffic software such as HCS and Synchro
  • Conduct safety evaluations and crash assessments.
  • Develop solutions to mitigate traffic deficiencies
  • Assist in the preparation of conceptual layouts depicting recommended improvements
  • Prepare technical memorandums and reports associated with large and medium scale traffic studies
  • Learn traffic control devices design that include signing, markings, signals, lighting, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) using CAD software
  • Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
  • Strong technical writing and analytical skills
