Job description

Description and Requirements
General Description: Provide administrative support to Team Leaders and service team. Ensure new business, renewals, and broker of record letters meet the requirements of the writing carrier. Act as a liaison between the insurance carrier and internal staff.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide day-to-day customer service. Respond to carriers, internal staff, and/or broker questions. Assist with claims and billing problems.
  • Review, compile, and prepare group information for large group RFP's.
  • Follow up with carriers on requests for quotes.
  • Provide internal staff with follow-up communication and approvals for Brokers on plan changes and open enrollment issues.
  • Prepare and amend large group spreadsheets as assigned.
  • Work with insurance carriers to process and follow-up on various items. Includes enrollment, proposals, broker matters, new business, and product information.
  • Help maintain BOR letters. Includes following up with Broker and/or carrier and assisting with plan design and rate information.
  • Provide renewals to appropriate brokers.
  • Enter data into commission database.
  • Update client database on an ongoing basis. Create and maintain case files of critical client information based on implemented workflows.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure service and turn-around times meet Emerson Rogers standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with carriers and internal staff.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Entry level position. 1 year of employee benefits experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED degree required. Bachelor's degree a plus.
  • Familiar with benefit plans a plus. Eager to learn new concepts and further professional development.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel. Includes experience with data entry, formatting, and formulas.
