Job Description
JOB DETAILS
Pay Rate: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM - Monday - Friday
Duties and Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician is an entry level helper with some technical schooling completed or minimum experience in maintenance. They help assist Level II and III technicians in equipment installations, repairs, or modification related to the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy with the manufacturing facility.
  • Understands and follows all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment
  • Assists with repairing and installing various electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems
  • Work with blueprint drawings, layouts, verbal instructions and other specifications
  • Use various welding equipment (arc, acetylene, brazing, flame cutting) for layout and fitting, including making jigs and fixtures
  • Diagnoses and corrects trouble in the electrical system or equipment, applying standard computations related to lead requirements of wiring ore electrical equipment
  • Perform visuals and mechanical inspections to confirm machinery is in good condition, ensuring the production of finished quality products according to other specifications
  • Follows the preventive maintenance program as established by the company and conducts equipment inspections, taking preventive action when necessary
  • Maintains buildings, performing minor repairs
  • Notifies management regarding the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in the area
  • May be assigned additional projects or duties as designated by the Team Leader

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or recognized equivalent
  • Minimum of (2) two years related working experience in a maintenance mechanic function, or equivalent related experience
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
  • Frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
