We're currently recruiting for a Head of Business Analysis on a full time, 6-month fixed term contract basis.

This position sits within our People & Transformation directorate, and we are flexible on the location of this role which can be hybrid based from our Glasgow or London offices or remote from anywhere in the UK.

The Head of Business Analysis will be Accountable for the Business Analysis (BA) service across ACCA. You will manage a team of Programme BA leads to ensure delivery of a quality, cost effective service and be responsible for setting the direction for the ACCA BA team and developing and maintaining BA ways of working and tooling.

You will work closely with Enterprise Architecture and colleagues in Transformation to ensure that approaches and deliverables are consistent with ACCA-wide practices and frameworks.

The job

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Delivery, on a day-to-day basis, the successful candidate will be involved in the following:

  • Lead a high performing Business Analysis capability to support the Transformation directorate and the organisation more widely in developing integrated solutions to deliver customer outcomes, business benefits and efficiencies
  • Lead a portfolio of business analysis activities supporting Programme Lead BAs in developing a cost effective and quality BA service
  • Look for efficiencies and improvements in BA ways of working, identifying external best practice than can be applied to improve delivery across ACCA
  • Work closely with the Customer Solutions Pilot lead to define BA ways of working that support future delivery models and provide line management for the SBAs within this programme
  • Manage a Portfolio BA team that is utilised across ACCA ensuring they are deployed effectively and deliver high quality results
  • Work with Enterprise Architecture and colleagues within the Transformation directorate to ensure that approaches and deliverables are consistent with ACCA-wide standards, practices and frameworks. Contribute to the development of ACCA-wide frameworks (for example the EBPM) as appropriate.

The person

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience leading BA teams across a portfolio of work using both waterfall and Agile delivery along with experience of building BA practices and coaching BAs in best practice
  • Experience in planning complex BA work, managing delivery to plan, growing, developing and motivating teams in a changing business environment
  • Experienced at liaising with multiple business units, conflicting priorities and demands (both internal and external service providers and suppliers) at the same time
  • Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate resilience to ensure the correct solution is delivered with a full understanding of costs, timescales and risk involved
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to developing positive working relationships with a wide range of internal and external people
  • Very strong influencing skills and ability to communicate complex processes and technologies in a clear and coherent way
  • Familiar with architecture frameworks, processes, procedures, and roles
  • Deep understanding of governance policies, processes, and procedures and how they apply to delivering Business Analysis
  • Good understanding of product management, Agile and Scrum delivery practices
