Job description

Position Summary

Provide operational and administrative support to Mortgage Processors to facilitate the efficient processing of first mortgage loans in compliance with federal and state regulations, secondary market requirements, and Navy Federal policies and procedures. This role helps streamline workflow, improve communication, and enhance the overall member experience throughout the mortgage process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Mortgage Processors with day-to-day operational activities, allowing them to focus on member and realtor communications and relationship management.
  • Collect, review, verify, and follow up on mortgage applications and supporting documentation, including income, assets, title, appraisal, and homeowners insurance (HOI) documents.
  • Prepare and evaluate loan files for Initial Credit Review (ICR) submissions and conduct quality control reviews to ensure file completeness and reduce underwriting conditions and delays.
  • Manage loan tasks and documentation through HomeSquad, including ongoing follow-up on outstanding conditions, title work, member inspections, and appraisal prerequisites.
  • Ensure key loan milestones and critical dates are accurately documented to support workflow automation and timely loan progression.
  • Accurately image, index, and maintain loan documentation within designated systems while completing required data fields to ensure file accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist with credit bureau supplement requests, loan withdrawal processing, and other processing-related workflow updates.
  • Complete and track third-party verifications, including:
    • Verification of Employment (VOE)
    • Supplemental Verification of Employment (SVOE)
    • HOA and condominium documentation
    • Outstanding condominium-related requirements
  • Process internal and external payoff requests and assist with post-closing and post-settlement corrections as needed.
  • Monitor pipeline activity to ensure loans move efficiently through the process while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
  • Apply knowledge of mortgage processing practices, lending regulations, and company procedures to support quality and compliance standards.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility and accountability.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced production environment.
  • Familiarity with real estate lending systems, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of mortgage or home equity loan processing, documentation requirements, and lending regulations.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new systems, processes, and technologies quickly.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
