Description
The Industrial Engineer will support improvements in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity across production and warehouse operations. This entry-level role will apply engineering methods, data analysis, Lean principles, and structured problem solving to improve processes, reduce waste, develop standard work, and support the implementation of new systems, equipment, and technologies. The Industrial Engineer will work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, EHS, IT, and other cross-functional partners.

• Support continuous improvement projects by observing processes, collecting data, completing time studies, mapping workflows, and identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.

• Analyze operational performance using Excel and other reporting tools; develop clear findings and recommendations related to productivity, labor utilization, capacity, quality, customer service, and process performance.

• Develop and maintain standard work, process maps, work instructions, production standards, workstation or material-flow layouts, and other engineering documentation.

• Learn and support Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Tracker, and other operational systems through testing, data validation, reporting, user support, and process standardization.

Requirements
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another accredited engineering discipline required.
• Entry-level position intended for a recent graduate. Previous full-time engineering experience is not required; relevant internship, co-op, capstone, laboratory, or manufacturing project experience is preferred.
• Coursework or practical exposure to Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools such as 5S/6S, Standard Work, time studies, process mapping, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, Kaizen, or Kanban preferred.
• Ability to collect, organize, and analyze data; identify trends; and develop practical recommendations to improve safety, quality, productivity, customer service, or cost.
• Exposure to ERP, manufacturing execution, production management, or warehouse management systems preferred. Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a plus but not required.
• Working knowledge of engineering methods such as work measurement, process flow analysis, capacity analysis, facility or workstation layout, and basic statistical analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn and apply structured problem-solving methods.
• Ability to manage assignments, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams with appropriate guidance and coaching.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to identifying root causes and implementing sustainable improvements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Experience with data visualization or analytical tools is a plus.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings, document processes, and collaborate professionally with employees at all levels.
• Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, adaptability, and a strong desire to learn manufacturing operations, business systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
