Job description

Position Overview

Sacramento Ultrasound Institute (SUI) is seeking experienced hospital managers, supervisors, or clinical leaders to serve as Clinical Workforce Integration Advisors. This advisory role is designed to ensure SUI's diagnostic imaging and cardiovascular programs remain aligned with real-world hospital expectations, clinical workflows, and workforce needs. Advisors provide practical feedback based on their on-the-ground experience supervising staff, onboarding new hires, and managing clinical operations.

This advisory role is strictly limited to providing educational program feedback and workforce alignment insights based on the advisor's professional experience. SUI does not provide, offer, or imply any compensation, payment, or other incentives for clinical rotation placements, site affiliations, student access, or any clinical education arrangements.

Role Purpose

The Clinical Workforce Integration Advisor helps bridge the gap between education and clinical reality by offering insight into:

  • What hospitals actually expect from new graduates
  • Where students tend to struggle during onboarding or early employment
  • How academic preparation can better reflect current clinical practice

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide feedback on the skills, behaviors, and competencies hospitals expect from entry-level technologists and identify common readiness gaps seen in new graduates or trainees.
  • Review high-level program curricula and competency expectations and recommend practical adjustments to better align academic training with hospital workflows, protocols, and performance standards.
  • Offer insight into effective clinical rotation structures, competency progression, and what makes students successful in busy clinical environments.
  • Advise on factors that influence hospital willingness to support student rotations and provide guidance on improving and repairing clinical site relationships.
  • Participate as a member of SUI's Program Advisory Board and contribute input that supports accreditation, program quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in brief monthly check-ins with SUI leadership and provide targeted feedback on workforce trends, alignment issues, and emerging clinical expectations.
  • Provide occasional strategic input on workforce alignment summaries, partnership discussions, and messaging intended for hospital partners.

Time Commitment

  • Approximately 2-4 hours per month
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Minimal administrative burden

Ideal Advisor Profile

  • Current or recent hospital manager, supervisor, lead technologist, or department leader
  • Direct experience supervising, onboarding, or evaluating imaging staff
  • Familiarity with hospital workflows, productivity expectations, and clinical culture
  • Interest in strengthening the future healthcare workforce

Compensation
This is a part-time advisory role compensated at $600 per month, structured as a 1099 independent contractor engagement.
