BCBA (Behavior Respite Program) - ABA SHINE

Location: In person Hayward, Union City and Fremont.
ABA SHINE is seeking a passionate, collaborative, and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our growing clinical team. We provide a diverse range of behavior analytic services to individuals across the lifespan through partnerships with the Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB), (CCHP), and other funding sources. Our services include comprehensive ABA, focus ABA, Behavior Intervention Services (BIS), Behavior Respite, caregiver coaching, and parent-led intervention models (no CCS clients).

As a BCBA at ABA SHINE, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of programs, populations, and service delivery models, creating a dynamic and rewarding professional experience. Depending on your assigned caseload, you may provide early intervention services for young children, support individuals with complex behavioral needs in home and community settings, supervise Behavior Respite programs, conduct behavioral assessments, develop behavior support plans, train caregivers, and mentor Behavior Technicians (BTs), Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), and mid-level supervisors.

Our clinical model emphasizes a collaborative three-tiered service approach whenever appropriate, allowing BCBAs to lead multidisciplinary teams while providing high-quality supervision, caregiver coaching, and evidence-based interventions. You will partner closely with families to build meaningful skills, reduce challenging behaviors, and promote long-term independence through individualized treatment plans.

At ABA SHINE, no two days are the same. Our wide variety of programs provides exceptional opportunities to expand your clinical expertise, gain experience with diverse client populations, strengthen leadership skills, and collaborate with an experienced team of BCBAs and developing clinicians. Whether your passion is early intervention, parent training, behavior consultation, or supporting individuals with significant behavioral challenges, ABA SHINE offers an environment where you can continue to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact on the lives of the families we serve.

Compensation: $87- $95 mileage, CEU stipend.
Receive a Bonus of $1000 after the first 6 months of employment

Why ABA SHINE

We're a small, BCBA woman-owned Bay Area agency building supportive, sane workloads for clinicians. Our programs with ABA intervention programs or the Behavior Respite program are staffed by trained RBTs/BTs and supervised by BCBAs and mid-level. For the BR program we focus on supporting safety, stability, and family quality of life-with lighter documentation than insurance-funded ABA and predictable, family-friendly schedules

What BCBAs love here

  • Manageable caseloads (primarily respite cases; or parent training sessions-limited treatment hours)
  • Hybrid flexibility (remote report writing/admin; field for trainings/overlaps)
  • Paid drive time + mileage and paid documentation
  • CEU stipend ($500 (PT)-$1,000 (FT)) + paid BACB fees
  • Clinical autonomy & strong ops support (scheduling, authorizations, payroll handled centrally)
  • Growth paths: Lead BCBA, training lead, QA, or program development
  • Work you can feel good about: stabilize homes, prevent placement disruptions, and mentor early-career techs

The Role

You will oversee Behavior Technicians providing either ABA program or the Behavior Respite services for children and young adults served by the Regional Center. You'll ensure services are safe, ethical, and consistent with BACB supervision standards and California Title 17/Regional Center requirements. (Behavior Respite is support-focused-not intensive treatment.)

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk/safety and support needs reviews
  • Train, coach, and supervise RBTs/BTs
  • QA & compliance:
  • Partner with caregivers, case managers, and schools to keep services consistent and sustainable.
  • Champion ethical, culturally responsive practice and client dignity.

What We avoid at ABA SHINE

  • Oversized, treatment-heavy caseloads
  • Endless insurance authorizations reports & lengthy staffing periods.
  • Unpaid admin time
  • Progress notes are needed yearly for the BR program

Perks & Benefits

  • Competitive pay (hourly or salaried) with bonus eligibility
  • Medical, dental, vision (FT); 401(k) match (FT)
  • CEU stipend + paid BACB dues; internal CE trainings
  • Mileage + paid drive time; company tablet & software
  • Flexible PT tracks (10-20 hrs/wk) or FT (30 - 32 hrs/wk)
  • Bilingual pay differential

How We Support You

  • Dedicated scheduling & ops team so you can focus on clinical work (not chasing calendars)
  • Clear templates (safety plan, shift notes, incident quick forms)
  • Monthly peer consult with fellow BCBAs; rapid-response leadership
  • Cases are all staffed and client are provided a full schedule to fulfill their authorization.

Flexible work from home options available.

Compensation: $87.00 - $95.00 per hour

Mission Statement:

The core value of our practice is inspired by Burrhus Frederic Skinner and Dr. Ole Ivar Lovaas.

At ABA SHINE, we believe that recovery is possible and we design and implement our interventions with that in mind. Our team is committed to offering evidence-based interventions that are guided by science and inspired by compassion.

We believe that Autism and related disorders are just part of our clients; it is not everything that they are. We treat each one of our clients as much more than a diagnosis.

ABA SHINE Services:

ABA SHINE supports individuals with Autism and other developmental challenges using individualized methodologies that have been tested and proven effective in the literature. THE ABA SHINE team offers exceptional ABA services delivered with care, enthusiasm, and human touch to promote fast and lasting progress. We are confident that our services exceed our clients' expectations. According to the parents' survey, our data shows clients' satisfaction and social validity of our services.

ABA SHINE focuses on assessing or evaluating the client's needs. We believe that assessments are necessary; Assessments drive the development of our intervention programs. At ABA SHINE, assessments can look different based on the client's needs. ABA SHINE team design individualized intervention programs to overcome our client's deficits. We use clients' strengths to help teach new skills and support them in overcoming their challenges.

We start our teaching by targeting fundamental skills and building on to new and complex skills. Every client has unique needs, and ABA SHINE tailors intervention programs to increase desired behaviors and decrease unwanted behavior. Eventually, ABA SHINE's focal point is that all clients reach their full potential. Our goal is to work with families to produce the treatment intervention program that will help enhance the lives of our clients and their families.
