The EIT designation is a step toward becoming a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Entry level civil engineers typically assist with design, analysis, project management, and field work on infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and buildings. They gain practical experience required for licensure while learning industry standards and practices. This role is essential for building foundational skills and advancing in the civil engineering profession.

Projects often include roads, bridges, water systems, or land development, depending on your firm's focus. You'll typically work closely with project managers, senior engineers, and other team members, gaining hands-on experience that builds your technical and communication skills.
