Associate Engineer: MINIMUM: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering or related field and four (4) years of civil engineering experience in a public agency or equivalent OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering or related field, possession of a California Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certificate and two (2) years of civil engineering experience in a public agency or equivalent. PREFERRED: In addition to the minimum, possession of a California Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certificate and additional years of civil engineering experience in a public agency setting. Associate Civil Engineer: MINIMUM: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering, Surveying or closely related field and two (2) years professional engineering experience.

PREFERRED: In addition to the minimum, Master's degree in Civil Engineering and three (3) years of civil engineering experience in a public agency setting. Licenses and Certification: The ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment; maintain throughout employment. Associate Civil Engineer: Possess registration as a Civil Engineer in the State of California.

Special Requirements: Must successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation, which may include Live Scan fingerprinting prior to hire. DMV printout prior to hire. Will be required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109.
