Job description

Position Overview
Power your future with Qualus as a Site Civil Engineer III. In this role, the candidate will perform design tasks and is responsible for preparation of grading and improvement plans, drainage reports, site development exhibits, and complete utility design. All work will be performed with emphasis on quality and project costs following client's requirements and internal company's quality control and quality assurance practices.
The candidate may also support and/or lead permit applications, perform technical research and investigations and summarize findings and recommendations in writing.
Responsibilities
  • Perform basic design tasks.
  • Assist on other tasks such as preparation of permit applications, drawings, calculations, and computer-aided design (CAD) work.
  • Develop overall conceptual design plans in the initial development phase of new projects.
  • Assist in preparation of grading and improvement plans, final maps, exhibits, and plot plans.
  • Work with renewable energy developers and other site development clients with support specific to schedules and cost estimates.
  • Perform company's Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with our external business partners; Present information and respond to questions from individual or groups of clients.
  • Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data.
  • Mentor less experienced staff on a wide range of technical and project management skills.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
  • 4+ years of experience performing civil engineering design.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD program.
  • Experience in hydrology, land development, and transmission line engineering is a plus.
  • Must have strong analytical and computer skills. Must be able to identify necessary software to complete needed design work.
