Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE

Performs a variety of skilled duties related to cemetery operations, including ground maintenance, equipment operation, burial preparation, and administrative support. Assists the public with cemetery-related services, maintains accurate records, coordinates burial information, and provides professional customer service to families, funeral homes, and community members.

Operator I – Performs a variety of entry-level skilled duties related to the maintenance, care, and improvement of cemetery grounds, facilities, and equipment. Assists with burial preparation, groundskeeping, landscaping, and general cemetery operations.

Operator II – Performs a variety of working-level skilled duties related to cemetery operations, including grounds maintenance, equipment operation, burial preparation, irrigation maintenance, landscaping, and facility upkeep. Assists with coordinating daily cemetery activities and ensuring grounds are maintained in a professional and respectful manner.

Operator III & IV – Performs a variety of journey-level skilled duties related to the planning, coordination, maintenance, and operation of cemetery grounds and facilities. Provides advanced support with equipment operation, burial services, improvement projects, and ensures cemetery operations are completed safely, efficiently, and according to established standards.
