Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Carrier Sales Representative to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships with freight carriers, securing transportation capacity, negotiating competitive rates, and ensuring the timely and reliable movement of freight for our customers. 

As a key member of the carrier sales team, you'll collaborate closely with operations, sales, and customer service teams to deliver seamless logistics solutions. This role plays a part in strengthening carrier partnerships while continuously improving service performance.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain long-term, strategic relationships with new and existing carrier partners.
  • Understand carrier capabilities, preferences, and service offerings to align with customer needs.
  • Secure a reliable capacity to support ongoing and future customer shipping demands.
  • Proactively source and onboard new carriers to grow and diversify the carrier network.
  •  Manage daily load coverage, including time-critical, expedited, first-mile, final-mile, and emergency shipments. 
  • Negotiate competitive pricing and service terms while preserving company margins.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
  • Stay up to date with freight industry trends, rate fluctuations, and capacity availability.
  • Partner with customer service and sales teams to ensure execution aligns with customer expectations.
  •  Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, or custom platforms). 
  • Provide exceptional service by managing issues, delays, and carrier communications.
  • Act as the liaison between carriers and customers to ensure smooth and effective interactions.
  • Identify and resolve transportation and service issues quickly and effectively.
  • Implement solutions to minimize delivery disruptions and optimize performance.
  • Proven ability to build rapport, close deals, and negotiate with confidence.
  •  Track and report on KPIs such as coverage percentage, margin, and on-time performance.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in carrier sales, logistics, transportation, or a related field preferred.
  •  Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across teams and partners.
  •  Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent).Â
