Cable Technician - Menasha, WI

Full Time

CC&N is seeking entry level Cable Technicians to join our team! We are looking for individuals who are detail oriented and can work in a fast-paced environment. You will learn from the best. In this hands-on field position, you will learn the art of cable installation in new construction, existing infrastructures, factories, and medical facilities where you will install, troubleshoot, and work as a team to get the job done.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Installation of low-voltage cabling such as voice, data, security, paging, nurse-call systems, fiber optic, etc.
  • Cross connect cable
  • Perform fiber splicing and termination
  • Terminate cable according to color codes
  • Test for polarity, connectivity, and repair
  • Install racks and patch panels
  • Set up computer rooms
  • Process paperwork accurately, neatly, and timely
  • Maintain compliance with company and OSHA safety standards

Education/Skills/Job Experience Requirements:

  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Solid attention to detail with good follow-through
  • Ability to work in a team environment with demonstrated positive attitude
  • Ability to read, write & communicate in English
  • Must have valid driver's license in good standing, a vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance
  • Ability to commute to various job sites
  • Flexibility of work hours - Shifts can vary based on customer demands and may include, but is not limited to: occasional nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Pass pre-employment screening

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to bend, lift, twist, turn, and crawl into tight spaces such as desks, cubicles and ceilings.
  • Ability to work from ladders (minimum 6') and lifts with arms extended above shoulders for extended periods of time
  • Ability to frequently climb up/down ladder and perform extended overhead cabling/wiring from ladder
  • Ability to load, unload and move materials up to 50lbs without assistance
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Adherence to technician uniform dress code including high-top leather/steel-toed work boots
