Job description

Security Analyst III - (Data at Rest Encryption)

Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 - 2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.

The Security Analyst III - (Data at Rest Encryption) is responsible for supporting enterprise data protection technologies and operational security initiatives with a focus on Data at Rest Encryption (DARE), cloud-based database security, automation, orchestration, and emerging AI-enabled operational capabilities. This role supports the implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of data security controls across on-premises and cloud environments. This position works closely with infrastructure, database administration, cloud engineering, DevOps, and cybersecurity teams to ensure secure handling of sensitive data assets and compliance with enterprise security standards. The analyst also contributes to operational automation efforts using scripting, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), orchestration tools, and entry-level data science concepts to improve security operations efficiency, visibility, and scalability.

How You Will Make An Impact:

  • Support enterprise Data at Rest Encryption (DARE) platforms and operational data protection initiatives across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Assist with onboarding databases, applications, and cloud resources into enterprise data security monitoring and protection platforms.
  • Perform security event validation, log analysis, and operational troubleshooting for data security technologies and infrastructure.
  • Support cloud security implementations across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments, including secure configuration and deployment activities.
  • Contribute to automation and orchestration initiatives using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of automated workflows, operational playbooks, and infrastructure-as-code solutions.
  • Participate in operational support activities for database security monitoring, encryption technologies, cloud-native security services, and secure infrastructure deployments.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, DBA, engineering, and security teams to improve operational processes and implement secure-by-design practices.
  • Support proof-of-concept (POC) activities for new cloud database technologies and security integrations.
  • Assist with infrastructure audits, operational reporting, metrics collection, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of security controls aligned to enterprise policies, NIST principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Performs system and network upgrade tasks.
  • Designs and analyzes vendor services and information security requirements; maintains relationship with key vendors.
  • Participates and completes lights-on initiatives to consolidate equipment and/or implement business relocations.
  • Performs complex configuration changes to meet business and information security requirements.
  • Performs capacity analysis; recommends and implements capacity increases.
  • Responds to Level 3 and 4 change and problem requests; leads Level 1 and 2 incident recoveries and root cause analysis.
  • Provides technical support to business and technology associates.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a support and operations or design and engineering role; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities & Experiences:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in information security operations, infrastructure support, cloud security, DevOps, database security, or related technical roles preferred.
  • Basic to intermediate experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred.
  • Experience with scripting, automation, or orchestration technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, PowerShell, or CI/CD tooling.
  • Familiarity with operational security concepts including access management, cryptography, secure configurations, vulnerability remediation, and incident response highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with database security platforms such as Imperva SecureSphere, Sonar, or similar technologies preferred.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted operational tooling, analytics, or data science concepts within cybersecurity operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), NIST SP 800-53, or related security frameworks preferred.
