POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Manager in Training supports the successful execution of Residential and Commercial swimming pool construction projects by assisting with project coordination, scheduling, field operations, and administrative tasks throughout the project lifecycle. This role works closely with Project Managers, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.

This position is ideal for an individual with some construction experience who is eager to learn project management and develop a long-term career in the construction industry. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist Project Managers with planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects from start to finish

  • Coordinate project logistics including scheduling crews, subcontractors, material deliveries, equipment, and inspections

  • Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, document project status, and communicate updates to Project Managers

  • Support field operations by helping ensure crews have the information, materials, and resources needed to complete work efficiently

  • Maintain project schedules and assist with tracking project milestones

  • Monitor project documentation including photos, job logs, permits, inspection records, and project files

  • Assist with customer communication and provide project updates as directed by the Project Manager

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of assigned work

  • Help identify potential scheduling conflicts, project delays, or jobsite issues and communicate concerns to Project Managers

  • Support quality control efforts by verifying work is completed according to plans, specifications, and company standards

  • Assist with monitoring jobsite safety and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations

  • Track project materials, equipment usage, and inventory needs as assigned

  • Assist with change order documentation, permitting, and project closeout activities

  • Participate in project meetings and maintain accurate records of action items and follow-up tasks

  • Develop knowledge of construction methods, project management processes, and company operations

  • Perform all other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record

  • 1-3 years of construction, field operations, trades, or related experience preferred

  • Experience in residential or commercial pool construction is a plus

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to build positive working relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and team members

  • Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and ability to learn project management software

  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications is preferred but not required

  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to take initiative

  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team

  • Eagerness to learn project management and grow within the organization

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the workday

  • Ability to visit active construction sites, including uneven terrain and outdoor environments

  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate construction areas safely

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50 pounds occasionally

  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions as required by project locations

  • Must be able to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
