Entry Level Architectural Staff I
Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has an excellent full-time opportunity for an entry level Architectural Staff I at our Fort Worth, TX office. This is an excellent opportunity for professional growth and career advancement. The successful candidate will collaborate with a knowledgeable team of architects and designers. This position supports architects, project managers, and designers in preparing design, presentation, and construction drawings, as well as assisting in construction contract administration for projects. Candidate must possess proven teamwork abilities and be flexible in assignments. HZ is an award-winning Architecture and Engineering firm providing innovative planning, architecture, engineering, and interior design solutions across the United States.

Reports to: Fort Worth Architecture Leader/Senior Associate
Employment Type: 40 FT Hours

Registration(s): Not Required
Education: Bachelor's in Architecture at minimum; Master's in Architecture degree from a NCARB accredited program preferred.
Duties:
  • Prepares project designs and construction documents using Revit software and equipment.
  • Prepares various documents during the course of the project's development including sketches, meeting notes, specifications, agency applications, etc.
  • Simultaneously work on several projects at various stages of development.
  • Visit project sites at the direction of the supervisor and assist with documentation of findings, if needed.
  • Research materials, assemblies, or building codes for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings as directed by supervisor.
  • Integrate information from consultants, suppliers and engineering disciplines into Revit models for documentation.
  • Assist with construction contract administration phase work by processing submittals, contractor requests for information, logging information, and routing materials to appropriate members of the team as needed.
  • Attend, record, and distribute meeting notes and assist with general project correspondence, if needed.
  • Assist with preparing graphic materials for presentations.
  • Assist with preparation of material finishes display boards or binders.
  • Some travel to construction job sites and client meetings, if requested.

  • Productively collaborates with others and leads or encourages teams to achieve success and camaraderie amongst each other.
  • Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.
  • Understands duties and responsibilities, possesses necessary job knowledge and technical skills, maintains job knowledge current.
  • Assist with appropriate administrative and project support tasks supporting the needs of the project team and office.
  • Complete assignments on-time, within budget, and with highest level of quality.
  • Routinely proposes and produces more effective ways to accomplish assignments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture from a NCARB accredited program; Master's degree is a plus.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience.
  • Enrolled in NCARB AXP and actively pursuing architect licensure.
  • Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Rhino, Lumion, Microsoft Office; knowledge of Bluebeam a plus.
  • Possess strong communications skills (verbal, written).
  • Experience with working on multiple project assignments.
  • Previous experience with producing design documentation a plus.
