Job description

We are looking for an Administrator in Traning with experience working in skilled nursing

The Administrator in Training (AIT) position is designed to provide comprehensive hands-on experience and mentorship in all aspects of skilled nursing facility management. This role works closely with the Administrator and department leaders to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to become a licensed nursing home administrator.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management

Shadow and assist the Administrator in daily operations and decision-making processes

Learn to oversee multiple departments including nursing, dietary, housekeeping, maintenance, and activities

Participate in budget development and financial management activities

Assist with facility inspections and survey preparation

Regulatory Compliance

Learn federal and state regulations governing skilled nursing facilities

Assist in maintaining compliance with CMS, state health department, and OSHA requirements

Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives

Help prepare for and participate in regulatory surveys

Human Resources

Assist with recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of staff

Learn employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures

Participate in staff training and development programs

Support scheduling and staffing coordination

Resident Care & Family Relations

Develop relationships with residents and families

Assist with admissions process and resident assessments

Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team meetings

Handle resident and family concerns and grievances

Community & Marketing

Assist with community outreach and marketing initiatives

Participate in census management and referral development

Build relationships with hospitals, physicians, and discharge planners

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field

Enrollment in or eligibility for state Administrator in Training program

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare software systems

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Education

A Bachelor?s Degree is necessary. A degree in Public Health Administration or Business Administration, or a health related degree is preferred but not required.

Experience

Must have, as a minimum, two years experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or nursing facility.

Must possess a current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator?s license or meet the licensure requirements of this State.
