Job Description
Responsible for the placement of orders with vendors and the processing of related paperwork for the Eastern Purchasing Region.
Responsibilities
  • Reviews and manages the daily workload, output, reliability and effectiveness of all items purchased
  • Processes all paperwork associated with purchasing in a timely manner
  • Places purchase orders and follows up to ensure timely delivery and receipt of proper product, specification and price
  • Conducts interviews with sales representatives to determine vendor qualifications, new ideas and pricing trends
  • Recommends specific procedures for buying, shipping and storing products as assigned
  • Serves as an advisor to departments in obtaining proper specifications, delivery and costs
  • Maintains vendor pricing bid lists
  • Assists in identifying and utilizing certified MBE's and WBE's and documents same
  • Identifies ways to increase efficiencies or improve product procurement and delivery service
  • Maintains updated skills and proficiencies, keeping pace with innovations in Procurement tools and technology
  • Acts as a resource and advisor to Buyers
  • Completes special assignments as requested
  • Not authorized to purchase or contract for goods and services involving an annual expenditure of $10,000 or more

Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good judgment and ability to direct and manage people
  • Attention to detail

Additional Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business preferred.
  • Minimum three years' experience in Purchasing preferred.
  • Diverse, fast-paced, deadline driven, multi-project coordination, prioritizing and flexing to accommodate last minute requests and changes.
  • Experience as a general buyer and food buyer experience is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 USD, which is dependent on a several factors including relevant experience, geography, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k)-matching program; among other employee benefits. This role includes paid Personal Time Off and paid company holidays.
