Job Description
Perform functions to manage the cage departmental operations to ensure compliance with internal controls and gaming regulations. Must exercise good judgment in reviewing internal audit findings and implement corrective action within the limits of established polices. All duties are to be performed within the guidelines of Horseshoe Indianapolis Racing & Casino policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and Indiana Gaming Regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Develop departmental procedures and policies to ensure compliance with internal controls and gaming regulations
  • Investigate shortages and errors, recommended, and implement corrective action to protect company assets.
  • Analyze customer counts and trends to determine necessary staffing levels.
  • Ensure all departmental staff are trained on policies, procedures and methods.
  • Respond to guest complaints or problems and ensure corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence in the future.
  • Review departmental expenses and ensure compliance with the budget.

Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of a specified or technical field, such as Accounting, equivalent to 2 years of college.
  • 2-3 years of managerial and cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to the positions responsibilities.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
  • Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Requires Access to the Gaming Floor
  • Job duties are performed in noisy and smoky environment.
  • Working area is confined, and space is limited.
