Position Summary

Ice Resurfacer Drivers are responsible for maintaining ice quality to NHL standards through scheduled resurfacing and other assigned ice maintenance including but not limited to installation and deconstruction of the hockey ice surface.

This role pays an hourly rate of $25.00-$25.87 (per CBA).

Benefits as per the union agreement.

This position will remain open until September 4, 2026.

PeoplesBank Arena is also home to the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers.

PeoplesBank Arena entertains millions of visitors annually with a variety of concerts, family shows, ice-skating spectaculars, consumer events, and trade shows throughout the season. The venue has played host to an extraordinary roster of world-renowned artists, including Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, Black Eyed Peas, Britney Spears, Drake, and many others. Responsibilities
  • Arrives for work on time for each scheduled shift, in uniform and ready to work
  • Responsible for ice resurfacing, ice edging and overall ice quality
  • Perform various general maintenance functions for equipment, including blade changes, exercising adequate judgment to ensure completion of tasks as assigned
  • Assist in maintaining, cleaning and safety checking all machines, and areas surrounding as needed
  • Monitor all refrigeration equipment, keep necessary records and logbooks on equipment, and inform the Ice Operations Manager if systems or equipment is malfunctioning
  • Assist in cleaning up ice before and after events and set up the game day ice crew area
  • Works safely, quickly and efficiently to meet all deadlines
  • Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor
  • Work independently and in a team environment
  • All other tasks assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications
  • 2 years' experience operating ice resurfacing equipment and ice rink setting preferred
  • Comfortable in front of large crowds
  • Comfortable operating Resurfacer with intermission rider
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Previous experience with ice edger and forklift equipment preferred
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to take both verbal and written direction
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects on a frequent basis
  • Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and reach/lift above head in conjunction with ice maintenance tasks.
