Otolaryngology (ENT) Physician – Locum TenensRole Summary

Carle Health is seeking a highly skilled and mission-driven Otolaryngologist to provide locum tenens coverage at Carle BroMenn Medical Center. This is a premier opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible physician to step into a well-established surgical and clinical environment. You will be responsible for a versatile mix of outpatient clinic visits and surgical procedures, supported by the advanced EPIC EMR system. The role requires a dedicated professional who can provide high-quality "Head and Neck" surgical care while participating in a comprehensive call rotation to serve the Normal, IL community.

Key Duties:

  • Clinical & Surgical Excellence: Provide a full range of Otolaryngology services, alternating between clinic days and OR days depending on the schedule.

  • Comprehensive Call Coverage: Participate in a one-week-per-month call rotation (Monday–Sunday), including overnight call responsibilities.

  • Patient Management: Handle a diverse case mix of ENT conditions, ensuring high-quality outcomes and patient-centered care.

  • EMR Utilization: Use EPIC for all charting and patient records; participate in required training to ensure seamless integration into the facility's workflow.

  • Administrative Compliance: Attend a mandatory onsite orientation for administrative paperwork and system training.


Required Qualifications
  • Certification: Board Certified or truly Board Eligible in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

  • Licensure: Must hold an already active Illinois State Medical License (IMLC is not accepted at this time).

  • Certifications: Current BLS Certification is required.

  • Health Attestation: Must provide vaccination records, a negative drug screening, and a completed physical within 90 days of the start date.

  • References: Minimum of two completed professional references from colleagues or medical directors of recent workplaces.


Desired Qualifications
  • Credentialing: "Clean and easy-to-credential" candidates with a minimal malpractice history and no active/pending cases.

  • Experience: Proficiency in high-volume surgical environments and comfortable with both pediatric and adult populations (if applicable per site profile).

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the existing medical staff and surgical teams.
