Job description

World Class Hospital, Cardiac Surgery program hiring a Critical Care Intensivist Physician, 24-bed state of the art unit that treats acute and chronic critically ill patients with a wide variety of cardiac diseases and multi-organ dysfunction.Will consider locum to perm or perm only, maybe even locum only. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated colleague who is board certified or board eligible in Critical Care Medicine and skilled in the management of critically ill cardiac patients including those with advanced heart failure requiring left ventricular support devices and a post orthotopic heart transplant. The Intensivist works in close collaboration with Cardiologists and other specialists in the management of these patients.Candidates must be adept in all critical care procedures including endotracheal intubation, management of noninvasive and invasive mechanical ventilation, the placement and management of Swan Ganz catheters, central venous and arterial lines, temporary dialysis catheters, tube thoracostomies, and performing thoracenteses, paracenteses, and lumbar punctures.The candidate must have an interest in the education of students, residents, and fellows who rotate through the unit, an interest in research, and must be at ease working with a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative fashion managing critically ill patients.
