Position: High School English Tutor

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking passionate and knowledgeable High School English Tutors to join our dynamic academic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in English literature and composition, with the ability to teach a wide range of courses including SAT English, English 9 (I), Honors English 9, English 10 (II), Honors English 10, English 11 (III) American Literature, English 12 (IV) British Literature, AP English Language and Composition, AP English Literature and Composition, and Academic Writing.
We are looking for educators who are committed to fostering a supportive and intellectually stimulating classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, analytical writing, and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons across assigned English courses.
  • Create an inclusive, respectful, and collaborative classroom culture that embraces diverse perspectives.
  • Differentiate instruction to support varied learning styles, including students with special needs and English language learners.
  • Evaluate student performance through formative and summative assessments, and provide timely, actionable feedback to guide academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents as needed to support individual student progress and curriculum development.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in English, Education, or a closely related field required; Masters degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching credential or licensure in secondary English Language Arts (or equivalent qualification).
  • Minimum of two years of recent experience teaching or tutoring high school English, with demonstrated success in both literature and writing instruction.
  • Strong command of diverse teaching strategies, assessment tools, and educational technologies.
