Civil Project Manager Multifamily & Land Development

We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of civil engineering and site development activities for multifamily residential and land development projects. This individual will oversee all civil-related aspects of project delivery, including grading, utilities, stormwater systems, roadway improvements, permitting, and infrastructure construction.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience managing civil scopes for multifamily developments, possesses strong leadership skills, and is committed to delivering projects safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of civil engineering activities from preconstruction through project completion.
  • Coordinate with civil engineers, architects, consultants, contractors, and ownership throughout all phases of development.
  • Manage site development activities, including grading, earthwork, utilities, drainage systems, roadways, parking areas, and site infrastructure.
  • Review civil drawings, specifications, and engineering documents for constructability, accuracy, and code compliance.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and forecasting for civil construction activities.
  • Coordinate permitting, inspections, and approvals with local municipalities and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage procurement of civil subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Monitor project costs and implement cost-control strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and safety requirements.
  • Identify project risks and develop proactive mitigation strategies.
  • Lead project meetings and maintain communication with owners, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including progress reports, RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, and closeout documentation.
  • Mentor and support Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and field personnel.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, site development, grading, drainage, utility coordination, and infrastructure construction.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and project financial performance.
  • Knowledge of local building codes, zoning requirements, permitting processes, and environmental regulations.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
